FPL Vibes Prize League Roundup – September

Summer has come to an end and so has September, and with it brings our second monthly prize winner in the FPL Vibes Prize League. The September champ is Curtis Marshall with his team Milanista, rolling out a superb month that has propelled him to top spot in the league. For his monthly prize, Curtis has selected an AC Milan #3  Maldini Third Kit from our official kit supplier Red Mango Kits.

Curtis is trailed in the prize league by Pelau Prince – Riaz Ali in second place and in third spot we have Ebouelah Hazard FC – Saleem Boochoon. Rounding out the prize league positions are CescDrogs&Roque Roll – Aidan Ali and podcast co-host Darryl Celestine with his Manuvelona. Even though it is still early in the campaign, big up to the early pacesetters who have started the season well.  Now lets take a closer look at how Curtis accomplished his September feat.

September got off to a delayed start as a result of the international break, but it was a monstrous gameweek 4 that set Curtis on course for the prize. 3 transfers were made going into the week with Di Maria, Pelle and Duff replacing Mata, Jovetic and Hoovield. The Milanista registered a total of 104 points, just 12 points off the highest total in the entire game. Chief contributor was a hamstrung captain Diego Costa with a hattrick (34) followed by Pelle (13), Di Maria (14), Fabregas (10), Rooney (10), Sanchez (6), Duff (8) and Hutton (5).

For gameweek 5,  there was one cosmetic transfer with Moore in for Bruce. In a fairly sober gameweek, Curtis scored 49 points. Key performers were Di Maria (11), skipper Rooney (8), Pelle (5), Wisdom (6) and Duff (6). Heading into the final gameweek of September with a significant lead over the chasing pack, the Milanista made 2 transfers bringing in Aguero and Dyer for Rooney and Lamela. Main scorers here were Pelle (9),  Aguero (8), captain Costa (12), Wisdom (6) and Begovic (7).  The end result was another solid showing with 51 points in another tough round, enough to steer 13 points clear of the chasing pack and claim the monthly prize.

His truly outstanding showing in September saw Curtis “marshall” his troops to an overall rank of 205 in the world. Critical to this was the brave decision to give the armband to Costa in a week where there were doubts over his fitness and availability to play. In addition, getting in early on players like Di Maria, Aguero and Pelle as well as  gambling on cheaper options in defence exhibited an agressive managerial style that paid off magnificently.

As teams begin to settle and managers begin to find their feet, Curtis will surely be in for a battle to maintain his lofty status. Let’s see what the coming months bring in the FPL Vibes Prize League.
